Bhaskar Denim a Dainik Bhaskar Group Company, incorporated in the year 1985 as a spinning mills in Bhopal, India, is now among top five denim mills in the country producing 42 mn mtr per annum. Bhaskar is a vertically integrated mill with spinning, dyeing, weaving and finishing under one roof.
Dealers/traders, brands and washers play a significant role in the value chain and have an important contribution in the growth of denim industry in India. This segment takes care of more than 60 per cent of denim capacity in the country. Through the event Bhaskar Denim showcased the Spring Summer 13 collection, its bestsellers and the quick delivery collection. As a significant part of the event, Bhaskar Denim also organised a washing competition among the mid-level washing laundries. Twenty six washing laundries showcased their innovative washes on the common fabric provided by Bhaskar and awards were given to five different categories.
Giving utmost importance to this segment of the business, the brand launches two collections every year namely Spring Summer and Autumn Winter. Their international and in-house product development team strives hard to give the best products to the market. Bhaskar product range includes, flat finished, coated, padded fabrics, utilising special blends such as linen, tencel and other specialty fibres. Bhaskar Denim has also introduced a concept of quick delivery collection to cater to the small quantities and immediate fabric requirements of small and medium scale brands.
The company is currently working with the reputed brands like VF, Tommy Hilfiger, NEXT, Jack and Jones, Marlboro, ZARA, M&S, Only, Carrefour to name a few. Along with major exporters like Shahi, Arvind, Chelsea, Gokaldas and Scotts, the company has also spread its wings in garmenting hubs like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangaluru, Bellary, Chennai, Kanpur and Indore.
Srigopal Jhawar, Business Head, Bhaskar Denim, says that Indian denim industry is growing at a rate of 12 per cent and which is a very healthy sign. The current Indian denim production capacity of 850 mn mtr per annum is expected to cross 1,000 mn mtr by 2015. With a current sale turnover of nearly 750 crore the company is expected to grow 10 per cent in the financial year 2012-13. |
