H&M India to launch online shop later this year

Swedish fashion retailer Hennes & Mauritz (H&M), which now garners around 12 per cent of global sales volume online, is planning to go online in India this year. A third-party logistics partner will handle deliveries. The company does not plan to integrate physical stores with online operations now and will not tie up with any online marketplace for selling. Hyosung Corp to invest Rs. 3,000 cr in Maharashtra

Hyosung Corporation of South Korea, the largest global spandex producer, is likely to invest around Rs. 3,000 cr in a manufacturing facility in Maharashtra, a top government official said. Tirupur garment makers shifting to Mysuru for fabric dyeing

Tirupur garment manufacturers to cut fabric processing cost are now increasingly shifting to Mysuru, neighbouring State preferring unauthorised fabric dyeing units, which have not adopted ‘Zero Liquid Discharg’e (ZLD) in villages near Mysuru in Karnataka and other districts of the State, industry sources said. As processing fabric in and around Mysuru is about 20 per cent cheaper compared to Tirupur, sources said. Around 18 lakh kgs fabric is processed per day in Tirupur. WPI inflation for apparel down 0.3% in Jan ’18

India’s annual rate of inflation, based on monthly wholesale price index (WPI), stood at 2.84 per cent for the month of January 2018 over same month of last year. The index for apparel declined by 0.3 per cent to 138.5 in January, according to the provisional data released by the Office of the Economic Adviser, Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
