India’s WPI inflation for apparel down 0.3 per cent in Jan ’18

India’s annual rate of inflation, based on monthly wholesale price index (WPI), stood at 2.84 per cent for the month of January 2018 over same month of last year. The index for apparel declined by 0.3 per cent to 138.5 in January, according to the provisional data released by the Office of the Economic Adviser, Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Arunachal’s sericulture proposal pending with India’s CSB

The Arunachal Pradesh Government has submitted a proposal for a sericulture project worth Rs. 95 cr to the Central Silk Board (CSB), the State’s Commissioner of Textile and Handicraft Tahang Taggu said recently at a farmers’ fair at Sille Sericulture Farm in East Siang District. He urged silk farmers to adopt scientific practices with commercial objectives.
