Blended yarn prices stable to up in Asia

In Qianqing, PC (65/35) 32s yarn prices rolled over in the second week of March while 45s PC combed yarn prices were up on the week. Blended spun yarn price remained firm across Asian markets and were moving into different directions in China. Although PSF prices were down in all markets, cotton prices firmed up prompting spinners to blend fibres to remain cost effective. Turkish textile companies may set up factories in Serbia

About four Turkish textile companies are in talks with the Serbian Government to set up their respective factories in Serbia. The country is planning to promote its model involving the reconstruction of abandoned halls in towns like Lebane, Lazarevac, Kraljevo, Nis and Leskovac, for investors to set up their machinery and start producing goods. US cotton exports to touch 13.2 mn bales in 2016-17

Owing to high recent shipments and sales to all major markets, US cotton export outlook for 2016-17 is hiked by 500,000 bales to 13.2 mn bales for 2016-17, the US department of agriculture (USDA) has said in its March 2017 report ‘Cotton: World Markets and Trends’. The report also projects US cotton exports to remain at 13.2 mn bales in 2017-18.
