Intertek, a leading Total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide, inaugurated its expanded Softlines testing laboratory in Chattogram, Bangladesh on January 08. Chattogram is the major hub for export-import trade in Bangladesh and the new facility offers enhanced chemical management and analytical testing services for the textile, apparel and RMG supply chain.
As a direct response to the growing demand from the customers, Intertek has now expanded the square footage of its laboratory by 50 per cent. This extended facility will enable Intertek to offer its services with reduced turnaround time. Both Physical and Analytical testing capabilities have been enhanced, Inspection capacity reinforced and Assurance services added to the portfolio, to make the Chattogram facility probably the only full service capability, in the region. Intertek also assures product compliance for various global and customer specific standards and regulatory requirements and provides a comprehensive environmental Chemical Management approach to help manage and reduce hazardous chemicals throughout the textile and apparel supply chain network.
