The rural and semi urban areas provide a big growth opportunity as fashion trends percolate across the country and fashion awareness starts catching up. The Indian denim industry currently stands at $3.6 bn, and has been growing at a CAGR of 9 percent over the last five years, according to a report by Denim Manufacturers’ Association. The industry is expected to grow at CAGR of 11 percent in the next five years. The steady growth is credited to the rise in consumerism, bridging luxury gap and advancements in denim fashion that have given the segment a major boost.
