Established in the year 1940, the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) is an ISO 9001: 2008 certified organisation. SGCCI, with its strong membership base, represents entire trade, industry and services fraternity in South Gujarat region of India, encompassing about 100+ associations with a direct membership of 7,700+ members and an associate member exceeding 65,000. With a view to promoting trade and industry, the chamber organises exhibitions and trade shows across major thrust areas.
The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry SGCCI has launched Global Fabric Resource and Research Centre (GFRRC) to help the different stakeholders in the textile sector to pool their expertise and innovative skills for creating textiles that will offer greater customer satisfaction in the national and global markets. GFRRC is a one-stop-shop for the weavers and textile traders. The centre provides information on the composition and other technical details about the fabrics and their market potential to the weavers, processors and traders. Fabrics sourced from the world are displayed along with their technical specifications, so that the weavers could make similar kind of fabrics which would help in boosting the overall fabric export from India.
The association recently organised a seminar on “Surat Weaving: A Sure Success” on 28th Feb, 2018. The event began with a welcome address by CA PM Shah, President, SGCCI followed by Floral Felicitation & Presentation of memento. A brief intro about the programme was made by Girdhar Gopal Mundra, Executive Core Committee Member, SGCCI. After this introduction of speaker was given by Ashish Gujarati, Chairman, Yarn Committee, SGCCI followed by Address from Ashok Adwani, Signature Group. Introduction of Chief Guest was given by Praful Shah, Co-Chairman, SGCCI – GFRRC Past President, SGCCI. After this Chief Guest Jayvadan Bodawala, Nanalal Synthetics Pvt. Ltd. made his presentation, which was followed by an interactive Question – Answer Session. Vote of Thanks was given by Mahendra Kajiwala, Chairman, GFRRC, SGCCI, Past President, SGCCI and MoC by Praful Shah, Past President, SGCCI / Co-Chairman, GFRRC- SGCCI.
