“For the first time in its 125-year history, the industry meeting and the assembly meeting of a VDMA trade association does not take place in Germany, but in another European country,” said Günter Veit, Chairman of the VDMA Textile Care, Fabric and Leather Technologies. We are a trade association within the VDMA which has lived the European idea from the very beginning and therefore several European members have been represented in the professional association for years. Only “European” will we be able to meet the many challenges of the coming years in international competition. Despite all the current adversities, such as Brexit, the EU is an anchor of stability and a guarantor for a peaceful future in Europe. The topic of Europe was also taken up in the course of a round table discussion entitled “The economic and trade policy future of European machine construction” in the workshops of the industry meeting. Another top topic of the industry was discussed by the participants in the workshop “Monetization of Industrie 4.0”
