The Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) and NICDC Logistics Data Services Limited (NLDSL) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Apparel House, Gurugram, aimed at strengthening logistics efficiency, enhancing supply chain visibility and accelerating digital transformation across India’s apparel export sector.
The collaboration seeks to leverage NLDSL’s digital logistics infrastructure and AEPC’s extensive outreach within the apparel export community to facilitate wider adoption of technology-driven logistics solutions and improve ease of doing business for exporters.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Mithileshwar Thakur, Secretary General, AEPC, said, “Logistics has become a critical determinant of export competitiveness in the global marketplace. Indian exporters require greater transparency, efficiency and seamless access to logistics-related information to remain competitive. The Government’s sustained efforts towards logistics modernization and infrastructure development have significantly improved logistics efficiency in the country. Through this partnership with NLDSL, we aim to create a more comprehensive and paperless logistics ecosystem that will enable exporters to track shipments more effectively, access logistics services with ease and make informed business decisions through a single-window digital platform.”
Shri Thakur further noted that the initiative would contribute towards improving overall supply chain efficiency while supporting the apparel industry’s export growth ambitions.
Shri Arvind Devaraj, Chief Operating Officer, NLDSL, said, “This collaboration will help bring together key stakeholders across the logistics ecosystem and support exporters through technology-enabled solutions. Platforms such as the Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP) and Logistics E-Marketplace (LeMP) are designed to improve visibility, predictability and reliability across logistics operations. Greater integration of logistics data and services will enable exporters to make better-informed decisions, reduce inefficiencies and facilitate smoother movement of goods across domestic and international supply chains.”
Under the partnership, AEPC and NLDSL will work together to improve exporters’ access to logistics information, enhance shipment visibility, support paperless trade processes, enable competitive logistics pricing through digital bidding mechanisms, facilitate discovery of logistics and allied services, strengthen insurance-related provisions and promote integration with national logistics platforms.
The initiative is expected to help reduce transaction costs, improve operational efficiency and enhance the global competitiveness of Indian apparel exports by fostering a more transparent, technology-driven and efficient logistics ecosystem.
