The Government of Bangladesh recently launched digital business identification (DBID) scheme in a bid to prevent irregularities and malpractices that have made infamous the e-commerce sector of the country, lately.

According to reports, as the scheme is implemented, e-commerce entrepreneurs will require the DBID to run business online even if the same will be applicable to those who operate their business using Facebook.

It may be mentioned here Bangladesh had witnessed a significant expansion of online business over the last few years even if many e-commerce entities in the country, including players like Evaly and eOrange, have been accused of malpractices including cheating customers and merchants while complaints against errant e-commerce entities keep piling up at the directorate of national consumer rights protection.
