As many as fifty industrial units, projects and facilities in various Export Zones in Bangladesh are set to be thrown open by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina recently (20th November), to mark 50 years of independence.
This was underlined by reports citing the Executive Chairman of Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) Shaikh Yusuf Harun, who reportedly said these include commercial operations of four factories at BSMSN or the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagar in the port city of Chittagong, and eight factories in different privately-run EZs even as he claimed these industrial units have already invested over US $ 967.73 million and will make further investments of nearly US $ 331.27 million.
The reports further claimed the EZ facilities to be inaugurated by the Prime Minister, include administration buildings of BSMSN, Srihatta EZ, Sabrang Tourism Park and Jamalpur Economic Zone.
Sheikh Hasina will reportedly inaugurate these facilities virtually.
