CCPB has lost its accreditation to issue TE standards in Bangladesh and IndiaItalian certification body CCPB has lost its accreditation for issuing Textile Exchange standards in Bangladesh and India. IOAS (International Organic Accreditation Service), which suspended CCPB’s Textile Exchange accreditation for the countries in August, has now withdrawn it with effect from 3rd January.

CCPB’s certified clients in Bangladesh and India must now seek certification services from and transfer their certification services to another accredited certification body by 2nd April.

“We recognise the burden that this creates for the clients of this certification body since they may require another audit and be subject to its additional costs,” said a Textile Exchange statement.

Transaction certificates previously issued by CCPB are still considered valid – unless otherwise notified by CCPB or Textile Exchange – but CCPB can no longer issue new transaction certificates for Bangladesh or India. CCPB clients in countries other than Bangladesh and India are not affected.

All certification bodies have to be assessed by an authorised accreditation body at least once a year to ensure conformity with Textile Exchange’s requirements.

When CCPB’s accreditation for Bangladesh and India was suspended in August, Textile Exchange said its assessment had found “non-conformities with Textile Exchange’s assurance requirements”.
We have approached CCPB for comment.
