China’s yarn exports to India, which encompasses all types of fibres, including cotton, have soared to double in the first quarter (Q1) of this year, reaching $349.329 mn. The shipment to India amounted to 199.032 mn kg, marking a significant increase compared to the same period in 2022. The value of these yarn shipments also increased by 33 percent within the same period.
In Q1 2022, the shipment value was $263.299 mn with a weight of 90.893 mn kg. China’s yarn exports to India have also shown a positive trend in the first quarter, compared to the preceding fourth quarter (Q4) of 2022, when the trade was recorded at $323.216 mn, and the shipment weight was 159.686 mn kg, according to market report.
In the third quarter (Q3) and second quarter (Q2) of 2022, China’s yarn exports to India were $335.480 mn (124.231 mn kg) and $448.370 mn (174.284 mn kg), respectively. In Q4 2021, the value stood at $290.343 mn with a shipment weight of 91.462 mn kg.
Looking at annual figures, China exported yarn to India valued at $1,370.367 mn (549.097 mn kg) in 2022, $1,076.057 mn (491.185 mn kg) in 2021, $521.771 mn (269.366 mn kg) in 2020, $533.577 mn (184.1 mn kg) in 2019, and $474.979 mn (131.699 mn kg) in 2018, as per market report.
