International Apparel Federation (IAF) President, Cam Elton, at the international Fab X show in Mumbai announced the establishment of an Apparel Training Centre in Surat to expand the horizons of the garment sector in India.

Speaking at the show, he said, “All kinds of textiles are made in India and especially in Surat but due to lack of skilled artisans the garment sector could not develop as it should, therefore Apparel Training Centre will be set up by CMAI on an urgent basis.”

“Surat is the textile hub of India, almost all types of fabrics are made in this city, yet the garment sector has not made the desired progress. To rectify this, an apparel training centre will be set up by the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI), which will be commissioned this year itself,” he added.
