ENGYNE, the premium menswear brand redefining wardrobe essentials for modern Indian men, has reported a record-breaking surge in summer sales. Shorts registered a 300% increase in sales between April and May, while Polo T-Shirts grew by 125%, marking the brand’s significant seasonal spike since its launch in April 2025.
Driven by the onset of vacations, extended heatwaves, and a rising preference for breathable, stylish attire, the trend signals a decisive consumer pivot toward lightweight, high-quality summer staples.
“As a brand built on craftsmanship and comfort, we’re excited to see our summer essentials resonate so deeply with Indian consumers,” said Karthikeyan K., Co-Founder and Director at ENGYNE. “This growth affirms our belief that Indian men are ready for wardrobe essentials that combine function, fabric and elevated style”.
Metros and Emerging Cities Fuel Growth
Polo T-Shirts recorded the highest demand in Mumbai, Bengaluru, South Delhi, Chennai, and Salem. Shorts saw maximum traction in Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai, Karur, and several Tier-2 cities, highlighting strong momentum in both urban and emerging markets. Many of these cities experienced early heat waves, contributing to the surge in demand for breathable, skin-friendly garments like cotton-blend shorts and polos.
The sales spike can be attributed to a combination of factors. The April to June summer vacation period is marked by school breaks and long weekends, prompting consumers to refresh wardrobes for travel, road trips, and resort stays. Additionally, rising temperatures across India have led to increased demand for lightweight, breathable clothing. The shift in lifestyle toward comfort-driven fashion has also played a key role. Consumers are now seeking pieces that blend ease with style, ideal for working from cafes, socializing, or vacationing. Polo T-Shirts, in particular, have emerged as the perfect bridge between formal and leisurewear.
The brand’s primary customer base includes Millennials (ages 27–40), who have shown strong interest in Polo T-Shirts and smart-casual shorts, particularly in metros. Gen Z (ages 18–26) is driving demand for graphic tees and loop-knit shorts, especially from Tier-2 cities like Jalandhar, Kota, and Tiruppur. Young families are contributing to multi-item purchases, shopping for breathable cottons and travel-ready pieces. Shopping patterns also indicate strong activity during evenings and weekends, with shipping addresses confirming the dominance of urban working professionals.
Looking ahead, ENGYNE is set to launch a Mid-Summer Capsule Drop in late June, featuring Supima cotton polos with heritage collar detailing and elevated graphic T-shirts aimed at weekend dressing and getaways.
