The Fashion for Good initiative has revealed the 10 new innovators selected to receive tailored support for their technologies through its 2024 Innovation Programme. The Innovation Programme provides support based on the development stage and ambitions of each innovator, matching them with relevant industry partners to drive technology and impact validation, as well as investing activities.
This year’s cohort represents an increased focus on novel footwear material and recycling technologies, man-made cellulosics, and nylon recycling.
The selected innovators joining the 2024 Innovation Programme are:
• Algreen – co-develops alternative materials from algae and biobased sources
• Balena – creates biodegradable, partly-biobased polymers for footwear outsoles
• Epoch Biodesign – an enzymatic recycler of PA66 and PA6 textile waste
• Fibre52 – a bio-based solution replacing traditional bleach for dyeing processes
• Gencrest BioProducts – uses enzymes to convert agri-residues into textile-grade fibres
• HeiQ AeoniQ – a continuous cellulose filament yarn with enhanced tensile properties
• Nanollose – developed Nullabor lyocell from microbial cellulose with partner Birla Cellulose
• Regeneley – advanced shoe sole recycling by separating and recycling EVA, TPU and rubber components
• Samsara Eco – an enzymatic recycler of PA66 and PET textile waste
• SEFF – produces cottonised fibres and blends of hemp fabrics via a patented HVPED process
“These groundbreaking technologies epitomise our steadfast commitment to embedding new technologies within the fashion industry,” commented Katrin Ley, Managing Director, Fashion for Good.
