Apparel Made-ups & Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council (AMHSSC) has started free online sewing training course especially for those who were adversely affected by COVID-19 and facing financial issues. The skill certificate will be awarded after successful completion of the course.

Dr. Roopak Vasishtha, CEO & DG, AMHSSC said, “The training programme is for those who have basic knowledge of stitching; we guide them for specific product making as well as soft skill training. Along with training, we connect trainees with the apparel manufacturers so that they can get jobs also.

The training programme is for 4 days and 4 hours every day. The council is getting good response to this initiative and is planning to continue in near future.

AMHSSC was incepted back in 2013 to build an organization that can develop Standards, evaluation criterion and accreditation systems for providing multiple and varied technical skills in the textile sector including employ ability skills to both men and women, as well as challenged persons with regular and direct inputs from the industry. Its main objective since its inception, has been proactively spearheading the skilling initiatives under the aegis of Ministry of Skill Development &Entrepreneurship, Government of India.
