The garment sector has seen rapid growth in the last few years and still holds tremendous potential for growth in today’s era. Over the years, Delhi, NCR has made rapid progress and is among the major garment hubs of the country. In fact, over the last decade, a number of integrated garment & knitting units, supported by world class processing and printing have come up in the region of Gurgaon, Noida and Greater Noida. Also, there is a big need for the existing textile units here to upgrade itself with the latest technological developments taking place worldwide.

Keeping this in view, the Garment Technology Expo (GTE) was organized at NSIC Exhibition Complex Okhla Industrial Estate, New Delhi. The largest industry show in the subcontinent was held from March 08–11, 2024, which provided all the technologies of garment making under one roof. The exhibition was spread over 1 lakh square feet and consisted of 4 halls. It is South Asia’s most comprehensive apparel technology expo, showcasing everything related to apparel production.

GTE is considered the best launchpad to introduce innovations, technology upgradation, new materials, processes and services. The four-day exhibition was supported by the Garment Exporters Association of Rajasthan, the Gujarat Garment Manufacturers Association, Noida Apparel Export Cluster and Association of Apparel Manufacturers and Exporters of Gujarat& many more such industry associations.

In this 35th edition, more than 800 brands & companies participated and was inaugurated by the Chief Guests H.K.L. Magu, MD, Jyoti Apparels with Inderjit S. Sahni, CMD, Garment Technology Expo in the presence of leading technology suppliers from the industry. Companies including leading manufacturers and suppliers of garment machinery and accessories from India as well as abroad participated in the show. The four-day expo received very good response with more than 13,500 trade visitors, including exporters and domestic manufacturers from various parts of India.

This B2B Expo provides a single point meeting ground for the garment manufacturers and technology providers to discuss and source latest technological developments in the industry under one roof. With 35 editions of the show it speaks volume for the appreciable role played by GTE for upgrading the apparel industry in Delhi/NCR and nearby states like Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan etc.
