Investments flow Into Andhra Pradesh textile industry at CII Partnership Summit

Andhra Pradesh’s textile industry got a significant boost at the CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam, where seven MoUs worth ₹ 4,380.38 crore were signed in the presence of Handlooms & Textiles Minister S. Savitha.  These agreements are expected to create about 6,100 direct jobs across multiple districts.

Investors are backing a wide range of textile segments, including technical textiles, recycled fabrics, garments, silk, and apparel manufacturing.  The planned new facilities will be set up in Visakhapatnam, Chittoor, Guntur, Sri Sathya Sai, and Anakapalli districts.

Some key investment highlights:
Kamadhenu Stika is investing ₹ 90 crore in Machilipatnam, which will reportedly generate 650 jobs.
Genius Filters plans to build a ₹ 120‑crore plant in Gandrajupalle (Chittoor), employing around 250 people.
Aravind Apparel Park will invest ₹ 20 crore in Hindupur, creating about 2,000 jobs.
Vamini Overseas Pvt Ltd is putting in ₹ 35 crore in Guntur, also promising 2,000 jobs.
MVR Textiles will spend ₹ 105.38 crore in Visakhapatnam, with capacity for about 900 workers.
BCUBE Textiles is investing ₹ 10 crore in Anakapalli to hire around 100 people.

Perhaps the most headline-making commitment came from Finland’s Infinited Fiber Company, which pledged ₹ 4,000 crore to set up a textile recycling unit in Visakhapatnam. This will introduce their fibre‑regeneration technology in India, marking a first in the country’s textile recycling space.

Minister Savitha attributed this wave of investment to Andhra Pradesh’s new textile policy, saying it has revived investor confidence. She also expressed optimism that these units will be operational within six months.
