Loepfe and Loptex together to improve yarn quality and productivity for spinning mills

Textile processing solution providers Loepfe Brothers and Loptex have come together to improve yarn quality and productivity for spinning mills. The two firms have put forward their respective YarnMaster Prisma and Zenit+, and Exa and Centra technologies for the collaboration. It’s hoped that by combining their specialisms they can further refine fibre processing, ensuring fewer errors and helping streamline the manufacturing stages.

The YarnMaster Zenit+ technology monitors product quality throughout processing. With three independent sensing technologies, yarns which are fed through textile machinery are subject to interrogation via a triboelectric sensor, an F Optic sensor; for foreign matter detection, and an Infrared Optic sensor; which detects yarn diameter defects.

Loptex’s Exa system is a data acquisition and contamination classification system, meanwhile, downloads statistical data and contamination images from the sorter unit during processing to help professionals identify issues. It classifies these according to colour and size and affords quality information to optimise manufacturing efficiency.

As the pair are integrated then, Loepfe and Loptex say the resultant system will offer additional refinement of the yarn throughout processing, even to the winding stage.

“We welcome this collaboration which harnesses the strengths of both the Loptex and Loepfe products for our customers,” said Loptex CEO Renato Gerletti. “There are many synergies between the approaches of our two companies, not least of these being our dedication to using leading edge technology to deliver great results for spinning mills everywhere.”

Loepfe CEO, Dr Ralph Mennicke, added: “Next to our in-house R&D commitments, this is a complementary partnership that puts customer needs first and will deliver a vital combination of top quality and greater productivity to textile mills. As the industry emerges from one of the most difficult trading periods in living memory, we continue to be committed to rolling out new and innovative solutions over the months and years to come.”
