Sri Lanka’s apparel export earnings could slump by $ 1 bn this year as a result of the demand slowdown in key export markets amid rising inflation and higher interest rates, a report said quoting a top official of the Joint Apparel Association Forum (JAAF). During the first quarter of 2023, apparel and textile exports declined 13.8 percent year-on-year to $ 1.3 bn and March exports hit a three-year low.
