Vietnam’s export-import turnover has recorded an increase of 13 percent in the first two months of 2022, reaching $108.5 bn, compared to the same period last year, according to the General Statistics Office (GSO). The country’s export revenue rose 10.2 percent YoY to reach $53.79 bn, with 9 commodities accounting for 71.6 percent of the total export value.
These 9 commodities collectively brought in close to $1 bn in the first two months this year, according to official data. The biggest importer of Vietnamese products was the US, importing goods worth $18.3 bn in Jan-Feb 2022.
Vietnam’s imports in the first two months of 2022 amounted to $1 bn, while the trade deficit stood at $937 mn. It mainly imported products from China, South Korea and ASEAN countries.
