Whistling Woods International’s young designers
Students of Whistling Woods International’s School of Fashion & Costume Design (SFCD) captivated audiences at Bombay Times Fashion Week on October 3rd, presenting bold, story-driven collections that redefined creative expression in fashion.

Semester 3 students showcased conceptual designs rooted in storytelling and symbolism, while Semester 5 students celebrated identity, transformation, and cultural expression through experimental fashion. From poetic tributes to Mumbai’s layered soul to futuristic silhouettes and cosmic tailoring, each collection turned fabric into philosophy and fashion into art.

One of the designs by a student included a poetic tribute to Mumbai’s layered soul, the shimmer of agate crystals in rain-inspired drapes, and futuristic visions bursting with color and structure. Another standout presentation depicted a visceral clash between primal energy and architectural precision, channeling a fierce, untamed spirit through commanding silhouettes and tactile surfaces.

Whistling Woods International’s young designersMeghna Ghai Puri, President, Whistling Woods International, shared, “What our students showcased tonight is not just design—it’s vision. When young talent is nurtured with the right guidance and freedom, they create fashion that transcends boundaries.”

The runway opened with actor and alumna Rajshri Deshpande in an ethereal tulle-layered dress inspired by the student fashion film A Room of Remembering. She was joined by Sakshi from the Nabhangan Foundation, which works toward rural sustainability and women’s empowerment. Actor and content creator Rehaan Roy closed the show as showstopper in a silk brocade jacket blending traditional motifs with modern sculptural tailoring.

The showcase ended with an emotional finale featuring all models, student designers, Meghna Ghai Puri, and Jewellyn Alvares, HOD, Fashion & Costume Design, WWI—a fitting tribute to WWI’s spirit of collaboration, creativity, and excellence.
