At Texprocess Americas 2018 (Booth 1733, May 22-24, Atlanta, GA), Zünd demonstrates the latest digital cutting technologies and solutions for cost-effective cutter system integration in various textile processing and production workflows. With consumer interest in highly personalised or even custom products growing steadily, there is great demand for efficient, cost-effective production workflows based on digital technologies suited for on-demand manufacturing. This is true from printing to cutting and even sewing. The cutting system is a key part of any successful Lean Manufacturing initiative and is the key tool for realizing savings in total fabric/material usage, consumables, and labour.

At Texprocess 2018 in Atlanta, Zünd is presenting cutting solutions that allow for seamless integration in digital production workflows. Zünd cutting systems are extremely flexible and designed to make textile cutting economical, no matter the specific production environment or materials that need to be cut. They give customers the opportunity to create new business models through innovative new cutting applications. Zünd has always striven to make its cutting and software solutions completely modular.

The Zünd S3 system on display at Texprocess illustrates the benefits of this modularity, which permits tailoring the cutting system to the requirements dictated by the job at hand, both in terms of tooling and material handling, e.g. with a cradle feeder for tension- and wrinkle-free advances. A camera-based registration system, in combination with the Zünd Cut Center software and user interface, takes care of matching cut to print, ensuring accurate registration even with stretch fabrics. Options for nesting and pattern matching are available as well. To visualise the integrated workflow concept and illustrate how easily the cutting system fits into the total value chain, Zünd is once again teaming up with other suppliers on the show floor to create a finished garment and a home furnishing product for attendees to take home as samples. As more and more companies either bring back manufacturing or establish new manufacturing facilities in North America, Zünd sees the need for more cost-effective systems to replace older, less productive or less versatile cutters. It is critical for new systems to be able to work within the Lean Manufacturing and IOT frameworks and provide maximum return and low cost of ownership to companies implementing this technology. The Zünd cutting platform allows these companies to do more with less.
