Industry insiders point to signs of recovery in the global retail market as Western buyers return, aided by easing inflation in key markets like Europe and America. Despite a tumultuous year marked by political upheaval and labour unrest, the RMG sector achieved a 6.23 per cent increase in export earnings. This growth reflects resilience amid significant hurdles.

“In this backdrop, we notice that the orders have picked up and capacities are being utilised well. Another trend is the expansion and diversification into non-cotton garments especially sportswear. This increases the need for specialised machinery which GTB showcased. GTB has been unveiling the latest innovations in Sewing, Laundry, Finishing, CAD/CAM, and Embroidery. We had participation from across the world. What was noticeable was the visit of all layers of the factory starting with the average technicians, to middle management, senior management and decision makers who visited evaluated the options available and negotiated with the principles that were present at the booth resulting in good order placement. The visit by the sewing machine dealers, second hand machinery suppliers was also noticeable as they were on the lookout for the spares and parts” informed Saleem B.
