The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Yogi Adityanath, has approved the transfer of land belonging to four co-operative spinning mills for the development of a mega textile park under the Sant Kabir Textile and Apparel Park Scheme.

A total of 251.805 acres from four mills of the Cooperative Spinning Mills Federation Limited will be handed over free of cost to the state’s Handloom and Textile Department. The decision marks a major restructuring step involving co-operative sector assets to boost industrial development.

The government said the move will help attract private investment, revive textile infrastructure, and create large-scale employment opportunities. It is also aimed at modernising the textile ecosystem and improving productivity in the sector.

By repurposing underutilised co-operative mill land, the state plans to build a world-class textile park that can strengthen value chains and enhance competitiveness.
