AEPC has organised an interactive meeting on 2nd Jan’2020 in Tirupur with Shri. D Anil, Commissioner of Customs, Trichy/Tuticorin exclusively to discuss the issues of Risky Exporter status. Sidharth, Deputy Commissioner, GST, Tirupur and Kalaiselvi, Asst. Commissioner (ICD) along with officials of Customs were present in the meeting.
Dr. A Sakthivel, Vice Chairman, AEPC has presided over the meeting. AEPC EC Members along with office bearers of TEA have also attended the meeting. While addressing Exporter’s issues, Sakthivel briefed the serious issue of Risky Exporter status and the releasing ITC less than 100 percent by O/o.GST. In this circumstance the exporters are struck in between the O/o.GST and Customs and unable to avail their benefits since unless it is 100 percent the Customs is not able to release the payment scroll. Hence, he has requested the officials to apply some modus operandi and help the exporters since there is a lot of amount pending under IGST, Drawback etc.,
Further he highlighted the issues faced by the Tirupur exporters in Tuticorin port/Customs such that shipping bill details are not properly transmitting to other Govt. departments, pending implementation of Direct Port Entry for Export containers in Tuticorin Customs, and unwarranted alert against BRCs, seeking time extension for rectifying Error code SB005 (due to invoice mismatch), extension of Cargo admission time to till 9 PM instead of 5 PM and the issues against HS Code Classification raising in the Customs port etc.
With regard to Exporter’s concern, D Anil, Commissioner of Customs responded that definitely the O/o.Customs and GST will work out some modus operandi to sort out the Risky Exporter issues and need to be taking up the issues to the higher level and solve the problem at the earliest.
Towards the issues existing in Tuticorin port, he has listened to all the issues and immediately informed in the meeting itself that he is organizing a meeting at Tuticorin Customs on coming 10th Jan and invited the trade representatives to join and address all the issues pertaining to Tuticorin Customs and solve the issues positively.
