Wayers, Head of Afghanistan’s Trade Economic Division, along with the delegation, paid a courtesy visit to Mohammad Hatem, President, Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) at the association’s head office.
For the deepening trade relations with Afghanistan, the discussions focused on opportunities to expand economic cooperation between the two countries. As Bangladeshi pharmaceuticals already have a strong demand in Afghanistan, Afghan importers are increasingly eager to source apparel from Bangladesh.
Wayers commended the progress and modern infrastructure of Bangladesh’s apparel sector and extended a formal state invitation for a BKMEA delegation to visit Afghanistan — an invitation President Hatem warmly accepted.
BKMEA Vice President (Finance) Morshed Sarwar Sohel, along with Directors, Md. Abdul Hannan and Shahriar Syed were present at the meeting.
