People are looking for performance, sustainability and end-to-end solutions which showcased here. We are beyond a textile mill and present our complete solutions to our consumers and buyers. We have designed smart and future-ready garments using sustainable technology and innovation.”
Arvind’s focus is on innovations. This was a platform where it presented its new innovations, product lines and the future focus on what Arvind has got. These are three fundamental things, on which Arvind is focusing. Prime targets were the brands, the traders who deal with these kinds of fabrics and the buying houses who work for export brands. At this event, all key strategic customers were invited. The majority of US based and European brands via their liaison offices attended this event. In active wear; Adidas and Reebok marked their presence, Marks & Spencer from the UK and many other leading buying houses and export houses also attended the same. So, these were the customers Arvind was targeting on. At Arvind’s last event in Bangalore also the participation was encouraging, since most of the apparel brands are based in that region.
For this event, Arvind collaborated with INVISTA; one of the world’s largest integrated fibre producers, and showcased its latest fabrics. Arvind and INVISTA have been synonymous in the industry for delivering innovative fibre and fabric technologies to meet consumers’ expectation for favourite garments. Highlighting sustainability, the INVISTA presented its latest innovations with the EcoMade technology – LYCRA® T400® fibre with ECOMADE technology and COOLMAX® EcoMade technology. Combining performance with sustainability, these innovations give new life to plastic bottles by making fibres out of that. All Arvind stretch denims are powered by LYCRA® fibre and other INVISTA speciality products like COOLMAX® fiber, COOLMAX® ALL SEASON technology, THERMOLITE® fibre, as well as fabric concepts with LYCRA® dualFX® technology, LYCRA® BEAUTY brand and LYCRA® HYBRID technology. These fabrics with their strong performance properties provide a set of unique comfort and durability to garments.
While speaking about the collaboration, Kapil Lakhwara, Consultant, Market & Business Development, INVISTA, said, “We’re collaborating with Arvind non denim mill for the show. We’re specifically showcasing our technologies, which we have developed with them. Since we are fibre manufacturers, we associate with the mill and then develop the technology. When I say technology, it means fabrics for the brand within INVISTA fibres. So we’re showcasing the complete range; LYCRA® dualFX®, LYCRA® BEAUTY, COOLMAX® Technology, and LYCRA® SPORT which is a cross non-denim bottoms to knit wear. Some of our technologies have done really well and there are some good global programmes running under this technology at Arvind Mills. So I’m sure it has created value for the consumer, the brand Arvind Mills, and us.”
Also present at the event, Thiruvengadam, Sales Segment Manager South Asia, Apparel & Advanced Textiles, INVISTA (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. said, “As a company, we are growing in both denim and non-denim segments, especially in the South Asian region. Globally, we’re doing well in active wear, and leg wear is another big market for us. If you see the trending, there are performance fabrics which are growing. Arvind is promoting Activewear segment for the first time in India and they were looking for a good technology partner. INVISTA is working with them in bringing fabric innovations through our performance fibres. One is the LYCRA® SPORT technology which they adopted very well for the launch, COOLMAX® Technology, moisture management and also they were trying to do something on Black Technology LYCRA® Fibre. That is what we’re seeing in this event. We can also see some of the suiting collections with COOLMAX® Technology fabrics with good performance.”
