Arvind Ltd., a textile-to-technology conglomerate, is pleased to announce the appointment of Sunitha Lal as its new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO).

Sunitha will work closely with business leaders across Arvind Ltd. to drive organizational effectiveness and lead initiatives in talent attraction, development, and retention aligned with strategic goals, and build a people-focused culture that embeds employee experience at the core of HR practices. She will also strengthen performance management systems to meet evolving business needs and create robust HR partnerships that enable business agility and execution excellence.

Sunitha joins Arvind Ltd. from Ather Energy, where she served as CHRO for eight years. She played a pivotal role in shaping Ather’s culture from the ground up, contributing significantly to its emergence as a leading player in India’s electric vehicle sector. Her previous leadership roles include stints at Matrimony.com, AIG Systems, and Mphasis, where she led strategic HR initiatives across talent management, HR-business partnering, and organizational development.

With over 25 years of experience across HR functions, Sunitha is known for her deep expertise in organizational and leadership development. She holds a Master’s degree in Labour Management and a Diploma in Labour Laws and Administrative Laws. She is also a practitioner of Group Relations methodology and has participated in several Group Relations Conferences as both member and staff.

Beyond her professional achievements, Sunitha is a writer, a Carnatic music enthusiast, and a practitioner of Iyengar Yoga. She is the author of Dotting the Blemish and Other Stories, a collection of short stories that explore societal prejudices through the lens of everyday women.
