Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) jointly organized an Emergency General Meeting to discuss contemporary challenges of the apparel industry and way forward.

Honorable Members of BGMEA and BKMEA attended the meeting and expressed their opinions on various issues of the industry, especially ongoing review of minimum wage in the garment sector. They also made recommendations to deal with the challenge. BGMEA President Md. Siddiqur Rahman chaired the meeting.

BKMEA President AKM Salim Osman, MP, former BGMEA President Tipu Munshi, MP, FBCCI President Md. Shafiul Islam (Mohiuddin), former BGMEA President Md. Atiqul Islam, BGMEA First Vice President Moinuddin Ahmed, Senior Vice President Faruque Hassan, Vice President SM Mannan (Kochi), Vice President (Finance) Mohammed Nasir and BKMEA Second Vice President Fazlee Shamim Ehsan spoke at the meeting.

The BGMEA President thanked the Members for attending the meeting and sought their support in dealing with the challenges of the industry. He also said that with support of all the apparel industry will be able to overcome all the hurdles.
