PPE manufacturer Carrington Textiles has bolstered its team as it looks to support further international growth. The reshuffle amongst seniority includes promotions for Neil Davey and John Vareldzis at the firm, who respectively assume the roles of managing director and CEO. Carrington has also brought on-board Paul Farrell as its New Sales Director, responsible for a team of 20+ marketing and sales officials.

UK manufacturer Carrington cites progress in the areas of production capacity and distribution opportunities as a catalyst for these changes. The company has, of late, embarked on a joint venture in Portugal to “significantly increase” its production volume potential, and has also secured a distribution partner in the United Arab Emirates as it looks to build its client base in new markets.

With this in mind, the company has afforded promotions to both Vareldzis – who moves from Managing Director to group CEO – and Davey, who takes the MD roll left by Vareldzis. The vacant slot left by Davey will be filled by new recruit Paul Farrell who has more than five years in the textiles industry and a further 20+ in the paper manufacturing sector.

“In many respects, paper manufacturing is similar to that of textiles,” said Farrell. “Both involve the processing of fibre into a finished product and, as such, it’s felt like a natural move into this sector.

“I have joined Carrington Textiles following a prolonged period of growth for the company and am looking forward to inspiring continued success across the board as its new Sales Director.”

Davey also thanked his employer. He said: “I am thrilled to have been offered the role of Managing Director and thoroughly look forward to taking the lead on initiatives including continuing to reduce our environmental footprint, growing our product range, reaching new markets in the USA, South America and the Middle East and taking tangible steps to manage our operations post-BREXIT.”
