According to the latest statistics from OTEXA, US denim clothing imports fell 2.94 percent month over month to $299.12 mn in February, but increased 43.41 percent year over year. Imports from Pakistan increased 6.94 percent month over month and 117.63 percent year over year among the top five shippers.
Bangladesh topped the list once again, with exports to the United States totaling $ 60.80 mn. Exports increased by 56.90 percent on an annual basis, but fell by roughly 2 percent on a monthly basis. Mexico’s shipments totaled $ 53.23 mn, up 16.76 percent year over year from February 21 and down 1.21 percent month over month from January 22. In February, exports from Vietnam and China fell 22.37 percent and 20.20 percent month over month, respectively, while increasing 16.06 percent and 27.06 percent year over year.
