He welcomed all the exhibitors and also reiterated that the event Would have not been posible without their support. This is Indian subcontinent’s largest show for apparel technology, with unparalleled representation from all segments of the sector. The B28 Expo provided a single point meeting ground for the garment manufacturers and technology providers to discuss, source and access new launches & latest development in the industry under one roof.
GTE has always been an integral trade platform cum showcase for companies, when launching new technologies and equipment. This edition of GTE Withessed participation from renowned companies from across the apparel value chain. Everybody who matters in the industry had fairly large independent booths and some of the leading exhibitors were HCA, IGM, Mehala, ALT, Ramsons, Juki, Brother, Yamato, Tukatech, EH Turel, Baba lextles, Richpeace, INL INternational, Morgan, Dhaval Colour Chem, Studio Next, Colorjet, Baba, Benz & Aliance embroidery, Sakho, Durkopp Adler, Pfatff, Macpi, Fucen, Jack, Zoje, SG Gemsy, Bruce, Maqi, Golden Laser, Groz Beckert etc. Live demonstrations of machinery were put up by many exhibitors. Technologies on show included CAD / CAM, spreading, cutting machines, sewing machines, knitting machines, embroidery machines, digital textile priting, screen printing, laundry machines, quilting machines, fusing machines, finishing equipment, printing & packaging machines, hot air seam sealing machines, garment dyeing machines, dyes, fancy yarns, software solutions, spares& attachments, accessories& trims, testing equipment, support services, etc.
Ricky Sahni, Joint Managing Director at Garment Technology Expo said, “We feel proud and privileged to be hosting the bulk of the garment machinery, equipment, spares, and accessories suppliers operating in India at this 31st edition of GTE. Adding to this, Ambrish Chopra, Director, Garment Technology Expo said, “The show is happening after two years due to Covid. The weather is very hot but we have tried our best to make it comfortable for the exhibitors. This is our 31st edition of GTE. In this edition, there were many new participants and a lot of new technologies were launched from the technology supplies”.
The show’s current edition received encouraging reactions from the exhibitors. Most of the participants were positive about the current market conditions as well as about the quality of the visitors at the show. When compared to its last edition in New Delhi, the show this year was 20 percent less in terms of participation and number of visitor’s. As the show was postponed twice due to turmoil that were witnessed in India in the last two years due to Covid. Most of the exhibitors were not happy with the timing of the show, as it was very hot in Delhi. However the four-day expo hosted around 10,000 trade visitors including exporters and domestic manufacturers from various parts of India. The next edition of GTE will be in Bangalore from 7-9 October 2022
Exhibitors Comments
Everybody is doing traditional embroidery. There are a certain number of threads and coloring that you use and you’ve to settle with that. With coloring you’ve expanded the scope of possibilities. You can create things, which have to be printed. By doing this you’ve added higher value for a segment than printing.
Because we use a single thread and print as we embroider, we are also more efficient. We have fewer thread breaks because we use one thread. Also, with a setting time when you set up new embroidery for eight colors in a new design, it takes a long time. But with coloreel, it’s just a matter of two minutes.
Also, the gap has been bridged. When the customers send their artwork with colors, you could set those colors up immediately with no trials, no lag dips, no minimum order quantity, no waste yarn, etc. This creates endless possibilities and makes people more creative with embroideries. This is the newest patented cutting edge technology and is probably the biggest development in embroideries. The technology that we’ve shown here is quite easy yet sophisticated. We can print 20cm per second. With this you can enter a new era of indefinite variations.
The response in the exhibition has been very exciting. We see a bright future in India. We have already installed a few units in India and we have big expectations.
We’ve launched a series of new automation and did a lot of improvements. We have shifted our focus on how to make the operations easier. Today we’re in an industry which is fashion, automation is limited to the processes which is common garment making. If you can ease the process, then you can stand a chance.Everything has become automatic; machines have also become computerized, so we are getting a very good business after COVID.
The industry now has to shift from China. There’s no other alternative. They themselves don’t want the labor-intensive industry to stay. Their working force is decreasing. We can’t go to Cambodia, Vietnam or Bangladesh. There’s hardly any labour available there. Africa; people themselves don’t want to go. Even Delhi today is thriving just because it’s the hub of trading centers now with all factories being pushed out. You’ve to come up with investor friendly policies and make your manufacturing center strong so that you can become the next manufacturing basket of the world.
Our Prime Minister, by the grace of God, enjoys a very good reputation and strength. Who can actually make decisions in favor of the industry? So this is the right time that government comes up with investor friendly policies in the garment or manufacturing sector.
Firstly, visitors were not able to stay back, they didn’t want to talk and understand the technology. They were completely restless due to hot weather and heat inside the halls. Second issue was about the timings. The timings were changed till 8pm and I couldn’t even see a single person entering the hall post 6pm.
We have just launched our Garment Automation Division in this GTE exhibition seeing the strong need of automation. Automation has been there for 10 years but demand now after covid, labour shortage and high labour cost the need for automation has reached new heights.
We have complete automation solution from cut to finish product. We have Cerkon con from Turkey for spreading and cutting, Smart MRT from Singapore and Malaysia, Epa from Turkey, Robotech from Turkey, Vitoni from China. We’re bringing multiple products to our customers in India.
We understand that the factory is completely dependent on automation. If the machine is off even for half an hour, the entire running of the factory will be stuck. You can’t immediately bring in manpower or buy small machineries. Thus, we provide the strongest service backup. For the last two years, when none of our principals could travel due to covid, it was only our service team that kept us alive.
After Piyush Goyal took over the Textile Ministry, this industry has been given a lot of importance. We have lost this advantage to Bangladesh, Vietnam, and Pakistan over the last few years. Now various schemes have come up like the FTA, PLI and PM Apparel Park scheme. The scope of this industry is bright for at least the next 5-6 years.
Everything has been displayed here and well taken by the customers who have visited. I believe people are now looking to upgrade their factories. For that matter, this last quarter was the best for us in the last 20 years for business.
We have displayed one is the same conventional auto spreaders, cutters, with the launch of new softwares and the upgraded hardwares. Because we know how the fabrics work, we have prioritized R&D to give the best possible solution. We have put in 6-7 anti- wrinkle devices together and we have synced in higher processor levels for precision, which helps us to deal with the lightest to the heaviest fabric which wasn’t possible earlier. We have customized the machine as per our customer needs.
We were jobless for almost 2 years, trying our best to survive. But on the brighter side, the serious customers realized the need of automation due to the labour and manpower problem. Thus, with the kind of turbulence we saw in the last two years, the manufacturers realized the utter need of automation.
The footfall has been very less. Even my customers who were planning to come didn’t show up because of the immediate word of mouth feedback they got about the awful management. Coming here is like entering into a heat chamber. The inefficient management has reduced the response. We’ve spent our hard earned money for this event and I’ve been let off a lot.
We are into unit production systems for garments and home textile factories. The design of our hanger system is based on piece-flow production, which reduces WIP by 95% and improves production efficiency. It further transforms the factories to achieve automation, digitization, and paperless operation. Now, looking at the present scenario of the industry in India, these systems are very important for increasing productivity and efficiency.
This time, footfall is a little bit less, which was very good last year. But still, we had very good quality customers, which got us some very potential leads. In terms of business last year, things were very good for us. This is the best platform to showcase the right technology. Every year we participate, and we have been associated with GTE for so many years. The response is always good, but the timing of the show is not right this time. The year 2022 was slow for the industry, but we did well and expect 2023 to be much better.
At GTE we are displaying viscose embroidery thread, polyester embroidery thread, metallic jerry thread, and spun polyester thread. We have displayed all types of threads here. The response to the exhibition is OK; not so good, not so bad. Visitors are coming, but the crowd is less. After three years, the exhibition is happening, so everyone is excitement to know what is new in trends. GTE is the good platform but the organisers should always do the exhibition keeping in mind the weather, because this time the atmosphere is really very hot. It should be in January or February.
The government, I think, doing very well for the textile industry and they should focus on building the infrastructure in India so that we can compete with China, Bangladesh, and Vietnam. It will take some time for the textile industry to recover, but for the time being, everything is fine so far.
Actually this year we are displaying four new machines. One is a multi head embroidery machine with movable sequence device. This is the first time displayed in India. Another is a single head Spangle machine. This is also a very new technology. We can make Spangle Motifs and transfer it directly onto the fabric or garment. And another machine we have is a dual type single head machine where we have beads and six colored sequence device and a laser cutting machine which we are again displaying for the first time in India. It’s integrated two in one machine where we have a galvanometric head as well as a cutting nozzle head also.
The response is fairly good. I think it is all right. But as compared to the February time when the season was right, it was better. The heat is really a deterrent factor with this. But still the footfall is all right. We are fairly satisfied with it. This exhibition is happening after three years. So this is an opportunity which everyone was certainly waiting, buyers and sellers alike. They should stick to the actual time, February or January. That was the best time because keeping in mind the export season also.
Nowadays, it has become very difficult to deal with situations like the manufacturing times in China and the transit. The freight has become very volatile. So I sincerely hope that we start to move towards manufacturing in India so that things are under our control rather than everything being outsourced. The freight, the cost, and the manufacturing time, nothing is controlled by us. But we hope that things will very soon clear up and things will again come back to normal. I think right now, business is good. The hope is high.
Singer India Limited. The company is more than170-year-old company. This is a company that has brought workable sewing machines to the world. The first sewing machine which was invented way back in 1851 by Sir Isaac Merritt Singer, and so you can say that the birth of the sewing machine has taken place by Singer. It has changed the view the garment look and feel is viewed. During its journey Sewing Machine has evolved and developed.
We are here showcasing our industrial machine range; lock stitch, flat lock, overlock machines, double feed machines, chain stitch machines. We are focusing on this segment and the range in the segment is very big. We are going to have a complete range in this segment in the coming days and we are expecting a very good business, the response from this exhibition is very good here. Singer is a well-known sewing machine brand. Acceptance is also good, and the product quality is what we are offering is the best in the industry. We will not compromise on quality neither on service. We are providing best service to the customers, and we will give them the best quality available in that segment. In fact, Service will be our USP in this segment.
In this exhibition our response is very good and encouraging. People are looking at the machines and having firsthand experience and their response is encouraging. They are very happy with the quality and the service that we are providing to them. We are giving them three years of warranty on Control panel and Motor of the Machine which are main parts.
This textile industry is a very big industry. It’s about people. It provides a lot of job opportunities for people. The tax rate is around 12 percent on the machines. I feel that the government has to reduce it and should get it down to 8 or 5 percent, where machines can become affordable. This is kind of like self-employment. So, government should take measure to help industry grow.
This time we’re launching seven new models in our new series of stepping models which is interlock machine, over lock series, button hole series. Our highlight this time is the automated snap fastening machine which is attracting a good crowd because of its uniqueness. Apart from this we have displayed complete range of sewing machines.
Response wise we’ve always been happy but this time the management is extremely disappointing. Because of the uncomforted zone due to hot weather. Customers are not even very interested in standing on the stalls and carrying out discussions. We were assured that a proper cooling system would be installed, keeping in mind that the exhibition is being held in the hottest month of Delhi but there’s a big big lag. Right now the demand is huge, everybody wants to know about the new technology but it’s the lack of arrangement that has spoiled our efforts.
We expected a lot at this exhibition but didn’t get the results. We were expecting lot of visitors and new buyers. This is only 25 percent of our expectations, which is not so good for us. In 2019, visitors came from all over India, but this time the majority of them were locals and a few from outside. Organizationally the exhibition is good, but the main reason is the weather and the COVID, because this month is a peak summer month. The organisers are doing an excellent job, but the one thing they need consider is the timing of the show.Government is doing its job well for the textile industry. We hope that this year and the coming year will be good for everyone and for the textile industry.
Daisen Sewing Machine Company is all into sewing machines. We have all types of sewing machines. We have all the varieties, from basic single needle to specialised sewing machines. The machines are made in China. In this exhibition we display almost all the modles, like bottom hamming, fully automatic machine, Overlock, so we have a lot of varieties. The footfall is little less, but we are very happy with the exhibition and the footfall. The organisers are doing a very good job. We will always participate in this exhibition every year or whenever it is happening. Our government is always supporting their special states. We are always happy with them. In terms of business, we are growing twice every year and will continue to do so.

GTE 2022 show was excellent in all respect as we had many customers who have visited us was very interactive. The customers who came here were very serious about the technology that we bring in as they have spent a lot of time understanding our products especially in this hot weather. Most of the customers were very much interested in our Style3D and ETCAD2D software, mainly because of its unique user experience the software’s can provide. Customer who are already using 3D solutions in product development was excited about Style3D particularly which is in line with top 3D software’s in the market and were very excited about the cost of ownership and we have several demos lined up after the shows.
At the moment, Tirupur market is delighted about reduced yarn price, which we expect to further reduce, and extension of TUF (Technology Upgradation Fund). These are the things, which will boost the industry
We have started our own brand online and offline store and are also providing multi-product solutions for garment factories, just like JUKI sewing machines, all kinds of accessories for the production floor, and Lectra Company Gemini CAD to improve the quality of work for sampling and cutting room. So basically, we are providing complete production solutions from cutting to finishing.
This time the show is not good because of the weather. The footfall is very low, but the good thing is that the exhibition has happened after so long. It has given everyone a chance to meet each other again and approach the industry. Everybody wants to cheer themselves up with new things. But the timing is wrong. It should take place in January or February.
The government should pay a little attention to the awareness of the textile industry and the publicity of the exhibitions. Even in today’s time, many people are not aware of what is new in the textile industry, so the government should do some kind of awareness activities for the textile industry. And also, they should do publicity for the exhibitions so that people from India and outside India get to know about them.
We are into Jack agent and for the last six to seven years, we have been promoting Jack in Noida and Delhi NCR. We are 100 percent focused on specialised machines and high-end machines. Apart from that, we are doing Jack spare parts and we are providing Jack electronic and mechanical solutions to our customers. We are mainly focusing on end users.
GTE is a big name in the apparel industry, and everyone knows about GTE. This is a bad time for the exhibition because it is too hot. We can say that this time is not a good experience for us and we are not happy with the arrangements. Organizers have to decide on the proper venue and make arrangements for the exhibitors as well as the visitors.
The government has already allowed some schemes in this apparel industry. We are situated in Noida. You know, Noida is already an apparel city, so most of the manufacturers are getting good subsidies from the State Government as well as the Central Government. I think the government is now more focused on apparel industry. We are getting good orders as our exporters are also getting good orders from the international buyers. So, in general, we will do well this year and next year.
We specialise in dealing with a single-head embroidery machine for sampling purposes and for boutique purposes. We sell the machine to the customer as soon as they have a need for it. We have sales offices in Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Delhi. We also provide our machines in Delhi and NCR. We have embroidery machines, embroidery software, training, raw materials; we have everything, whatever the customer needs. He will find everything in one place. We are also selling the Ricoma brand. Ricoma is an American company. “Ricoma is a well-known brand in American and European countries.
We are displaying Single Head embroidery machines with the sequence device, carding device, and as well, we are displaying newly launched heat pressing machines like T-shirt printing machines, Sublimation Printing machine for football printing, plate printing, mug printing, and all Heat Transfer machines with Embroidery Machines. We are very happy with the exhibition and the organizers. GTE is a good platform for the textile industry, so it is very good for us. We have also received a very good response from the show in terms of customers as well as inquiries.
The government should do something for us in the form of incentives and policies. We rely on machines imported from China and other nations to keep our business running. I believe that if these machines are made in India, we would be able to offer a lower price to our end users, resulting in a significant profit.
We are a Delhi-based company. We have a branch office in Bangalore, and we deal in all kinds of garment machinery like overlock machines, lock stitch machines, cutting machines, steam irons, and embroidery machines. Here, in GTE, we are displaying multi-head and single-head embroidery machines. We have 2 booths here. We are the agent of Jack Company, so we are displaying all Jack Machines here. And we also display our own brand of machines named Swift. We display all the machines of the Swift Brand. The show is good, but because of the hot weather, there is less footfall this year. Otherwise, the response is really good for us. The only thing that organisers should look after is the cooling system.
The government does a great job, but they should give some small incentives to the people who are putting up the boosts, especially those who are bringing in Indian manufactured machines, so that we get some kind of incentives and motivation. In terms of business for us, things are going pretty well. After COVID, initially things were very slow, but now they have picked up. Also, we are looking into expanding our business. Right now we are looking into the Delhi and NCR markets, so we are probably looking for more dealers in Haryana and we are working in Utrakhand
This year we have displayed almost the same machine that we are selling in India. This means we have displayed around 28 machines. But some special machines, like we have one Zoje Eyelet Kaj Machine, are selling well in India. Ever since we started this machine, we have been selling it well. GTE exhibitions are such that if we can say that if anyone can participate in any exhibition, then he must participate in a GTE exhibition. It is a good exhibition. The response was good for us. The only issue is the weather. Otherwise, organization wise, everything was really good. GTE is a good brand value. They got us very good prospective customers.
We are growing by 65 percent this year. I am anticipating around 70-80 percent growth. So for us, we have a lot of scope. So we are doing good production line expansion. Actually, we have more than 220 production lines. We are the biggest in our industry in terms of machine variation and the production line. So we’ll be introducing all those models into the Indian market. All special machines are coming with them. We’re going to have our offices in Bangalore and Hyderabad.
As with our company, the government should support some Indian manufacturers, manufacturer who is going to be into sewing machine manufacturing. So for that, it’s a long process, because, for example, we have a very low customs duty. So it will take time. But for some infrastructure and some promotions, they have already started. They’ve already allotted around 7000cr for industry, so it’s good to get good responses.
In the exhibition we have 2-3 machines on display. The brand name is M&R Global. This is a screen-printing machine that has a 6 colour, 12-station machine. This is for knit t-shirt printing machines and the printing area is 18 x 20. This machine is totally customizable, like you can increase the number of colours, you can increase the number of palettes, and print images also. According to the customer’s requirement, we can customize. Our second machine, which we display, is the smallest machine. This printing area is 6 x 6 inches. This machine is for only logo printing, label printing, and some other kinds of things. And our last machine is a single-colour machine, which is for transfer sticker making machines, and this prints on paper also.
GTE is a great show, but this time the footfall is less compared to previous GTE editions. The good thing is that, inspite of this hot weather condition, people still coming and asking about the latest trends and news machines. Customers’ enquiries are there but need to see the result after the exhibition. The organisers should hold GTE in the winter rather than this summer otherwise, we are pleased with the organisation and management.
We specialize in quilting machines, whether it is single head quilting machines, multi needle quilting machines, or chain stitch quilting machines, which are required for the mattress industry or for car seat covers. Besides quilting machines, we also do embroidery machines, laser cutting machines and specialised pattern sewing machines. At the GTE, we are displaying the single-head quilting machine, which is very popular these days, mostly going to the home textile industry.
The response this year has not been as great. Maybe after COVID, this is finally happening for such a long time. But this is the wrong time for the exhibition. It is too hot and the venue is not suitable for exhibitions. Everybody will say the same thing. The textile industry is now the core sector of India’s economy. So, the government should give some incentives to the small entrepreneurs so more are encouraged to come into this business and do exports for India.
We provide digital transformation solutions to labour-intensive manufacturing industries like apparel, footwear, soft toys, fashion accessories, etc. The main benefits/values that the companies get are: a decrease in operational costs by up to 30 percent; an increase in operational efficiency by up to 25 percent; unbeatable product quality; and 100 percent transparency and traceability. What differentiates us from others is that we don’t just DIGITIZE the process but OPTIMIZE the whole manufacturing value chain using predictive analytics.
We got an overwhelming response from the customers. We saw a trend shift—”even micro manufacturers who have just 50-100 machines want to invest in technology.” Previously, only a handful of large factories used to adopt new technologies. After seeing such an overwhelming response, we are planning to open our regional office in Delhi to provide the best service possible. We went global last month by deploying our solution in Tropic Knits, Madagascar. We are also planning to expand to South East Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
We have been regularly participating in GTE for many years. GTE is a good exhibition, and basically a lot of people are coming from Jaipur, Gurgaon, and nearby areas. We could meet many new customers. It’s difficult to meet all the customers at their places, so we are here to meet them and present our offerings under one roof. So it is very useful one can see all kind of garment machinery at one place.
In this exhibition, we have displayed here the basic equipment as well as advanced machineries. For example, Button snap pull tester to check the button attachment quality. Elastic checking to check the elasticity and quality of elastic. We also have here Zip testing machine. Similarly we have the basic equipment like GSM checking, PH checking and moisture content in the fabric. And this is a color matching cabinet to match the colors on the various sides. Also we have some sprays to remove the oil and grease from the fabric.
It is a great show, but I think everybody is complaining about the hot summer. At least after knowing it was due in the summer, they should have taken a little more care so that people can comfortably spend time in the exhibition.
We deal with all kinds of sewing and finishing machines. We are giving cut-to-finish solutions to the garment industry. We are based in Noida. We have on display all kinds of sewing machines for the garment industry, finishing machines, needle detectors, pressing machines, steam presses, boilers, special cutting machines, leather machines, etc. The show is great. Organizers are doing a good job from their side.
The government should also make some policies for machinery manufacturers and machinery suppliers like they do for exports. The last two years have been difficult for us in terms of business, but this year has started off nicely, and we are optimistic that the future year will be much better.
We have been making cutting blades since 2006. We have been making special cutting and folding machines for printed labels in India for the past about 5 years. Apart from this, we are importing some machines from China and we are making some improvements to those machines, especially the software, electronic parts and the electrical parts. We are the reseller of special machines from China and some special machines we make in India. Our Cutomers are mostly manufacturer of Woven labels, printed labels, and garment business. Our focus is to give good service, good quality products and good spare parts
We have developed a special machine that, at the moment, nobody is offering in Asia or even in Europe. Our machine has a special ultrasonic cutting attachment with the help of which we are cutting special shapes like fish cuts, V cuts, Hole punching and the Kaj button cut. And that is possible on a simple cutting machine with some ultrasonic dyes and moulds which we have developed in India. Our machines are made in India for the ultrasonic cutting. And these kinds of machines are working in a lot of reputable label companies near Delhi, Kundli, Sonipat, also in Badhi, and some machines are working in Tirupur also.
The response to the show is good. We are happy that some of the customers with whom we were discussing come to the show, they wanted to see our machines and they were not able to come to Mumbai because of COVID. So it has been a good platform for everyone.Only suggestions for the organizer are timing of the showas many exhibitions are happening at the same time.
We are participating for the first time in the GTE exhibition and have received a very good response from our customers. We are quite happy with this exhibition. In this GTE edition, we have displayed all types of sewing machines from SG Gemsy. Other machines on display are needle detectors, Fusing and thread cutting machines from Lunex. Apart from this we have complete technology solution for garment making. Our company was established in the year 2011. It is a Sole Proprietorship Firm engaged in wholesale trading of various garment-making machinery. The organizers have done a fantastic job. The government is supporting the textile industry in every way possible. After COVID the industry has picked up and lot of expansion is happening in Delhi NCR. Our aim is to provide affordable technology with best service.
