An Indian delegation, led by Sandeep Poundrik, Additional Chief Secretary of the Industries Department of the Government of Bihar, held a meeting with Faruque Hassan, President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) recently.
The meeting revolved around exploring potential trade and investment opportunities between Bangladesh and India, with a specific focus on strengthening cooperation in the textile and apparel industry. Both parties acknowledged the significant potential for collaboration within this sector and deliberated on ways to leverage these opportunities. The Indian delegation emphasised the investment prospects available in Bihar and their commitment to assisting investors in the region.
During the meeting, Faruque Hassan stressed the importance of intensifying business cooperation between the two nations. He underlined the necessity of identifying specific areas where Bangladesh and India could collaborate to generate mutual advantages.
Faruque Hassan expressed his optimism regarding the expansion of trade and investment relationships, especially within the textile and apparel industry, a crucial sector for both countries. He believed that Bangladesh and India could complement each other to tap into global market opportunities and advance together.
