India’s export of garments in August was worth $1232.7 mn, a 0.42 percent fall over the figure of $1237.4 mn in August 2021. However, the export figure for cotton yarn, fabrics, made-ups and handloom products in August 2022 was worth $881.86 mn, a 32.32 percent drop over the figure of $1302.91 mn in August last year.
India’s merchandise exports were worth $33 bn in August, almost similar to $33.38 bn in the same month last year. Such imports in the month were worth $61.68 bn—a rise of 36.78 percent over $45.09 bn in August 2021. The total trade deficit in August this year was worth $28.68 bn.
Value of non-petroleum exports in August was $28.09 bn, registering a decline of 2.22 percent over similar exports worth $28.73 bn in August last year, an official report said.
