The Intex South Asia – Bangladesh edition virtual expo concluded successfully on 25 March, 2021 on Bee2bee.asia. This international textile sourcing platform was visited by2000+ trade buyers from the textile and apparel industry of Bangladesh and also attracted overseas buyers from Sri Lanka, Spain, Mauritius, Finland, Italy, Peru and Algeria. The buyers interacted with 70+ global suppliers participating from India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, China, Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and the United Kingdom (UK) through pre-arranged B2B meetings over Zoom and the Bee2Bee platform.
Intex South Asia Bangladesh was inaugurated virtually on 22 March 2021, by the Hon’ble Minister for Textiles & Jute, Golam Dastagir Gazi (Chief Guest) and Jogiranjan Panigrahi, Jt. Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India (Guest of Honour) in the presence of Mohammad Hatem, 1st Vice-President, Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers & Exporters Association (BKMEA), Abdul Matlub Ahmad, President, India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IBCCI) and former President of FBCCI and Dilip Chenoy, Secretary General, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). The VIP Opening Ceremony of Intex South Asia Bangladesh was broadcasted live on Bee2Bee, YouTube and Facebook simultaneously.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Hon’ble Minister Gazisaid that, “I am pleased to learn that Worldex India is organising the 2nd edition of Intex South Asia Bangladesh in virtual format. The fact that this is the 2nd show is a clear sign of the single minded focus towards creating a strong sourcing platform for the growth and development of the textile and apparel industry of Bangladesh, thus going a long way towards attracting genuine trade and investment opportunities to the country. I remember the first edition of Intex South Asia in Bangladesh which had excellent participation from various countries. I believe that Intex South Asia Bangladesh will provide an excellent platform for textile buyers to interact and network with international suppliers from across the world. I believe that the virtual format is more opportune in the current pandemic situation and I wish them success for this virtual expo.”
The Guest of Honour, Jogiranjan Panigrahi, Jt. Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, said that, “India and Bangladesh have strong cultural, commercial and political ties. The organisers have done a commendable job by bringing onto one platform all the industrialists, traders and textile manufacturers to boost the supply chain mechanism and to take forward relations between India and Bangladesh in the Textiles and Apparel sector.”

India was the Partner Country of Intex South Asia Bangladesh. The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) jointly with Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, organized the Indian Textiles Pavilion with 51 participating companies.
