Intex Sri Lanka 2025 concludes 10th edition
The 10th Edition of Intex Sri Lanka concluded on a resounding high, celebrating a decade of connecting leading manufacturers and solutions providers to the apparel industry stakeholders and buyers from Sri Lanka, South Asia and the world. This year’s edition brought together over 400 booths from 15+ countries & regions, with Country Pavilions from India, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Indonesia, China drawing over 6,944 trade visitors, buyers and industry professionals from more than 25 countries across South Asia, ASEAN, MENA, UK, USA and beyond. The three-day event, held from 6–8 August 2025 across 5 Halls at BMICH, brought together the entire textile value chain under one roof, reaffirming Sri Lanka’s position as the hub of textile sourcing in South Asia.

The Grand Opening Ceremony was graced by Hon. Sunil Handunnetti, Minister of Industry & Entrepreneurship Development, Hon. Chathuranga Abeysinghe, Deputy Minister of Industry & Entrepreneurship Development, along with esteemed special guests including H.E. Miyon Lee, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Sri Lanka; H.E. Dewi Gustina Tobing, Ambassador of Indonesia to Sri Lanka; Saurabh Sabhlok, First Secretary (Economic & Commercial), High Commission of India in Colombo; Mr. Saif Jafferjee, Chairman, Joint Apparel Association Forum (JAAF); with Eurofins as Sustainability Partner, Kasturi Cotton as Traceability Partner, and Super Dry and Oritain UK as Branding Partners, reflecting the show’s focus on sustainability, traceability, innovation, and brand value.


Reflecting on the event’s impact, Hon. Sunil Handunnetti remarked, “Intex Sri Lanka has, over the past decade, grown into far more than just a sourcing exhibition — it is now a platform where ideas meet action, where Sri Lanka connects with the world, and where our apparel sector’s strengths are on full display. This year’s edition has shown how innovation, sustainability, and collaboration can redefine the future of manufacturing in our region. As we look ahead, the Ministry will continue to support initiatives like Intex that bring global buyers and local producers together, helping Sri Lanka maintain its position as the hub of textile sourcing in South Asia.”

The show floor also saw two successful strategic B2B matchmaking sessions, notably between Kasturi Cotton and Sri Lankan stakeholders, and between Indonesian suppliers and Sri Lankan buyers, paving the way for new partnerships and market opportunities.

Alongside Intex, The Interactive Business Forum (IBF) continued to be a knowledge powerhouse, with Day 1 themed “Apparel 2030: Re-Stitching Fashion’s Future” exploring circularity, traceability, and smart textiles, and Day 2 themed “Trust Over Trends: Building Brands Consumers Trust” focusing on brand resilience, transparency, and consumer engagement. IBF brought together global experts from India, Sri Lanka, USA, UK, and more, sharing actionable strategies for the future of apparel.

The co-located InMac – Smart Technology & Innovation in Gar-tex Machinery Exhibition spotlighted next-gen garment and textile machinery designed to reduce resource consumption and elevate production efficiency. From AI-integrated inspection systems to digital printing and dyeing technologies, presented leading brands and companies from Italy, Germany, Turkey, UK, USA, Korea, China, India, and principles from Sri Lanka showcased solutions for a sustainable manufacturing future.

Intex Sri Lanka has reinforced its role as the region’s most influential textile sourcing platform, enabling meaningful connections, knowledge exchange, and sustainable business growth.
