The progress of humanity has driven a change in consumer attitudes, leading to a strong demand for fashion and personalisation in clothing. Therefore, the demand for clothing orders has become fragmented, and quick delivery has become increasingly fierce. The tendency for small orders and quick responses in garment enterprises is inevitable in global garment manufacturing. To respond to this new supply chain, digitalisation, intelligence, and automation technology are the needs of the hour.
In the series of new product launch events of Urus in India after Tirupur, Ludhiana and Bengaluru, the next destination was Ahmedabad. It is called the “Manchester of India”. It is officially famous for cotton textile. It is situated very close to cotton growing area and hence had easy availability of raw material. Many leading denim mills are located here. And now, it is one of the biggest textile hubs of Gujarat, which is growing as a garmenting hub. There are many emerging garment manufacturers purely focusing on the domestic market but having state-of-the-art manufacturing units.
On October 20th, 2024, Jack organised a new product launch event of URUS with Balaji Sewing Machine Pvt. Ltd, the distributor for the Gujarat and Maharashtra region at Hyatt Regency, Ahmedabad. The event was inaugurated by the Honourable chief guests Abhay Shah, President, Association of Apparel manufacturers and exporters of Gujrat, Mr. Bhavinbhai Parekh, Managing Director, Globe Textile LLP, Mr. Sanjay Gohel, Managing Director, Zedex Clothing Pvt. Ltd. and Mr. KiranVohra, Director, Aso Palav Enterprises LLP in the presence of Mr. Pratik Gupta, Managing director, Balaji Sewing Machine Pvt. Ltd and Mr. Atul Pandey, Branch Manager, Jack Sewing Machine Co. Ltd. and the new Urus was unveiled in the presence around 350 garment manufacturers and exporters who attended the event.
The event started with a presentation by Atul Pandey, Branch Manager about the Jack Company and Urus machine. He explained about Jack’s state-of-the art manufacturing facilities in China and their strong R&D. He also shared data about Jack Markets share in the world market and how Jack has grown over the years and is now the world number one sewing machine brand.
He further gave details about new technology used in Jack Urus, i.e., the pressure foot transformer and smart rhino feeding. He said after getting the success of AMH, we have implemented the same technology in overlock machines and launched Urus after 3 years of R&D.
Urus is equipped with an industry-leading AI full-speed feeding system, a key technology that enables URUS to break through all joints of the thick fabric, elastic fabric, and thin fabric. Even if the thickness of different joints varies by hundreds of times, it can pass smoothly at full speed without slowing down. Plus, it has a ‘super brain’. With a million-level pressure-to-feed ratio model library, the system could perform multimode intelligent detection of fabric thickness changes at a speed of 32,000 times per second. Once the fabric changes slightly, it immediately calculates to generate the best pressing force and feeding force parameters.
A live demo of Urus was successfully conducted by a car-pulling activity, and the audience was surprised to see the performance of Urus. This activity shows the feeding capacity of URUS and the pulling power of new technology.
In the second activity, they demonstrated continuous stitching of thick fabric, light fabric, and elastic fabric with 100% accuracy and zero stitch error, stitch gap error, thread breakage error, and needle break issues. This activity shows the new technology “pressure foot transformer” used in Urus. Lastly, a fashion show was also organised, showing garments made of very light fabric, heavy fabrics, and metal sewing together in one garment.
Lastly, Pratik Gupta, Managing director, Balaji Sewing Machine Pvt. Ltd talked about his company and their successful association with Jack Company. He said “Jack sewing machines are known for the sturdy, functional and superior quality. We are dedicated to customer satisfaction and welcome their suggestions. The one machine Urus can be used for all kind of fabrics like denim, silk, lycra and net fabric. We are getting very good response from customers and he thanked all the invitee for attending the launch and making the event successful.”

Urus will help to transform and upgrade the Indian garment industry and solve the difficulties of sewing adaptation caused by different types of fabrics. This technology will embark on a new journey of leading the garment industry towards digital up gradation and sustainable development of green energy.
At the end of the presentation, the customers were invited to witness the live demonstration of the machine and samples stitched by Urus.
