K.P.R. Mill Ltd. has approved a ₹450 crore greenfield Ready-Made Garment manufacturing facility in Khordha as part of its ₹1,225 crore capacity expansion and modernization plan. The new facility will have an annual production capacity of 45 million garments and is targeted for commissioning in Q1 FY2027-28. The project is expected to generate around 5,000 direct jobs while creating thousands of indirect opportunities across MSMEs, logistics, packaging, transportation and allied services.
K.P.R. Mill is one of India’s leading vertically integrated textile companies, supplying global apparel brands through its end-to-end manufacturing ecosystem. The investment strengthens Odisha’s ambition to become Eastern India’s textile and apparel hub, complementing recent investments under Odisha TEX and the state’s focus on employment-intensive manufacturing. Large-scale garment manufacturing has the potential to create significant opportunities for women, strengthen local supply chains and boost exports.
This announcement is more than a factory expansion. It reflects growing confidence in Odisha’s industrial ecosystem, policy support and manufacturing potential. The next milestone is execution. Faster clearances, quality infrastructure and timely project delivery will determine how quickly this investment translates into jobs and economic growth. Odisha is steadily moving from an investment destination to a manufacturing destination.
