Maharashtra's textile policy boostsMaharashtra’s Textile Minister Sanjay Savkare said the state’s textile policy has increased the ease of doing business and is attracting investments at a healthy pace. Speaking at a special session on textile sector, organized as part of Advantage Vidarbha recently, Savkare said Maharashtra is promoting policies which help to enhance value addition for the entire product line.

“Maharashtra’s textile policy is the best in the country, attracting investments from entrepreneurs across various states. We have formulated multiple policies to boost the textile sector, leading to significant progress in Maharashtra’s textile industry,” Savkare said.

The Minister spoke at the session which focused on the theme of ‘Vidarbha as an Ideal Destination for Apparel Units and Technical Textiles.’ Apart from Savkare, others who spoke as part of the panel included Prashant Mohata, Director of Gimatex Industries, Yogesh Navandar of PRN Techtex, Avinash Mayekar, Managing Director of Suvin Technical Textiles, and Indorama’s Deputy General Manager Dipali Wankhede.

Savkare highlighted the contributions of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari in providing a new direction to India’s industrial development. “Previously, the Govt. did not pay much attention to the textile sector. However, competition has increased, and with collective efforts, we will see significant progress in the textile industry,” Savkare said.
