Roica EF premium stretch fibre has received GRS – Global Recycled Standard certification by the Textile Exchange ensuring that hosiery manufacturers using its products can now offer 100 per cent sustainable solutions for both the leg and waistband sections of tights.

Roica, from Asahi Kasei, is part of the Roica Eco-Smart portfolio and is made with 58 per cent pre-consumer recycled content.

“The new GRS certification of Roica EF will allows us to offer producers and brands to become a responsible and proactive part of the innovation process,” said Hiroaki Shinohe, Roica’s Chief Marketing Officer based in Germany. “From now on there is not excused: Roica EF for both leg parts and waistband is the last piece solution to fully sustainable and certified tights.”

The GRS certification is intended to meet the needs of companies looking to verify the recycled content of their products both finished and intermediate, and to verify responsible social, environmental and chemical practices in their production.

The objectives of the GRS are to define requirements to ensure accurate content claims and good working conditions, and that harmful environmental and chemical impacts are minimised.
