The Southern India Mills’ Association (SIMA) conducted the first Texfair Exhibition during August 23-27, 2001 to support the predominantly MSME-driven manufacturers of Textile Machinery, Accessories, Spares, Equipment, Utilities and Service providers. SIMA Texfair 2001 maiden event attracted 186 Exhibitors and around 30,000 visitors. Over a period, the event has become very popular both for user industry and the manufactures of all Textile Machinery, Accessories and Spares. The event is normally conducted once in two years.

In a press release issued here today, Mr. Durai Palanisamy, Chairman, SIMA has stated that SIMA Texfair 2026, the 15th edition of its series will be conducted during 6-9th March 2026 at CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex, Avinashi Road, Coimbatore. He said that the event has attracted 240 exhibitors, who would showcase their innovations, services and their machines, spares, etc., during the four day event. He has mentioned that the event has attracted exhibitors predominantly from Coimbatore, Mumbai, Ahmedabad Bangalore including several exhibitors from Switzerland, Germany, Italy, China, Egypt, etc., and likely to attract one lakh visitors.

SIMA Chairman has stated that the Texfair event would be inaugurated by Mr. P R Venketrama Raja, Chairman, Ramco group, the inaugural function would be presided over by CITI Chairman Mr. Ashwin Chandran and Mr. S Suresh Babuji, Director, Ministry of MSME would be the Guest of Honor for the Texfair inaugural event. He has added that Mr. Prasanth Agarwal Co-founder and Joint Managing Director would deliver the keynote address highlighting the current and international textile scenario, market opportunities in lieu of the recently concluded US, UK & other FTAs and the strategies for making investment in the textile industry and achieving double digit growth rate.

SIMA Chairman has stated that the conclusion of Free Trade Agreements with the three largest textile and clothing markets (i.e) United States, European Union and United Kingdom, along with the resolution of key structural issues such as rationalisation of GST on man-made fibre and its products, withdrawal of Quality Control Orders, abolition of Anti-Dumping Duty on MMF and its raw materials, the announcement of a Mission for Cotton Productivity and the introduction of five new textile policy initiatives in the Union Budget 2026–27, would significantly strengthen the sector. He expressed confidence that these measures would enable the textile industry to bounce back, accelerate growth momentum, and attract large-scale investments in the near future. Mr. Durai has said that SIMA Texfair platform would provide an excellent opportunity to zero-in the investments and choosing the right suppliers.

Mr. Durai has stated that the Association has decided to conduct a new event “SIMA AI Tex Summit” every 6 months to enable the industry to take advantage of the AI and automation constantly emerging in the textile industry. He has said that the maiden event of SIMA AI Tex Summit will be conducted from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm at the exhibition venue on Friday 6th March 2026. The theme of the first SIMA AI Tex Summit is “Transforming Textile Manufacturing through Automation” and the sub themes chosen for the summit are “Leveraging Data and AI tech for Overall Excellence, Greenback Forex Hedging Tool, Digital & Operational Automation in Textile Enterprises, AI-Driven Mill Intelligence – From Data to Decisions in Spinning Production”, says SIMA Chairman. He has invited all the Managing Directors and Directors of textile manufacturing units to register for the programme and gain practical insights into leveraging automation for improved efficiency and competitiveness.

He has said that the summit will deliberate successful automation case studies from the textile industry that would give confidence among textile manufacturing units, replicate the proven models and enable the units to enhance productivity, reduce production costs & lead time and significantly improve overall competitiveness.

SIMA chairman has said Texfair event will be open from 10.00 AM to 6.00 PM for all the four days and the entry is free for all business visitors. The organizing committee of Texfair 2026 has extended invitation to all the stakeholders.
