In the NIFT Kangra campus the 10th Graduation Show ‘TANTU’ of Textile Design students was showcased with great enthusiasm and splendor. A total of 25 students graduated this year after (the successful completion of 18 weeks graduation project in textile industry.

In this project, students work on various themes based projects and create two collections of textile products.

Saurabh Garg, Assistant Professor and incharge course coordinator told that the batch of 2023 has done the graduation project in various areas of textiles. Many students have worked in the apparel and home decor sector in the best organizations in India, viz., Ritu Kumar, Sarita Handa, House of Masaba, Biba Fashion, Ascent Decor, Gokaldas Exports, Triaburg, VCNY Home, and many more. Many students attempted in areas like rugs with Jaipur Rugs, in the area of crafts with brands like Amounee, Kalanjali Arts and Crafts, and Uppadda Sarees. Many students got placement offers during the ongoing graduation project and through the NIFT placement drive.

Jyoti Chandwani, General Manager-Design, Rangriti by Biba Apparels graced the occasion with her presence. She looked at every detail of all the design collections made by students and appreciated them.

A talk show was organized wherein the dignitaries from the varied field presented their viewpoints on the intersection of Industry and Higher Education. The experts discussed about creativity & innovation and follwed by interaction with students. Interaction of students with industry personnel was informative and boosted the confidence of the students. The presence of the dignitaries encourged the industry connections at NIFT Kangra. In his speech, Aakash Dewangan, IRS, Director of NIFT Kangra, mentioned about the ancient spiritual wisdom and encouraged the students to inculcate the values of kindness and humbleness in every area. He also spoke on the examples of leadership around us and concluded with the thanks to dignitaries.
