Raja M Shanmugham, President said he along with General Secretary TR Vijayakumar met Suresh Prabhu, Hon’ble Union Minister of Commerce and Industry recently and submitted a memorandum with requisition to address exports related issues including GST implications.
Raja M Shanmugham further mentioned he requested the Minister to immediately address the issues otherwise, the exports market will be shifted to our competing countries. Raja M Shanmugham noted that the Hon’ble Minister was positive and assured to provide whatever the support needed to the exporting community for its sustenance and also mentioned about releasing of the package soon to bail out the exporting units from the crisis.
Raja M Shanmugham was happy to note that the Hon’ble Minister has planned to visit to Tirupur, Knitwear hub of India, in a month time to see the ground realities. Raja M Shanmugham also said he met the Commerce Secretary, Rita Teaotia IAS., and she has also assured to provide support for the sustenance of exports. Raja M Shanmugham said recently he met Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment and appealed for construction of ESI hospital in Tirupur and is confident that it will be fructified by next month.
