Tukatech introduces first open 3D Fashion System

Tukatech introduces first open 3D Fashion System

Tukatech, the industry’s leading fashion technology solutions provider, released the latest version of TUKA3D, the most used 3D system around the globe. The 2022 release offers an open system that allows designers, brands, retailers and their factories to work efficiently within a virtual process.

“Each 3D system requires three elements: a 2D flat pattern, a 3D avatar, and the digital cloth. All three are not the same across all 3D systems, hence the vendors who develop the final product cannot use data coming from OTHER 3D systems used by designers,” says Ram Sareen, Founder and CEO of Tukatech. “We have the largest 3D user base where FIT is the main focus. Our avatars are built with either actual body scanning or 3D sculpting. In 2021, we allowed users of OTHER 3D systems to start with actual replica avatar from our extensive library of over 700 models. This gives exactly the same results regardless of who added value at each stage. The vendors can see the fit and start from THAT DATA to make the final garment.”

For instance, a designer can use CLO, Browzwear or any other 3D program, so long as they use the same avatar which is an exact replica of the real fit model, the 2D patterns will FIT and the LOOK can be created by designers and sent to the vendor. Since everyone is using the same avatar, the 2D pattern can be used to make the final fit sample.

In TUKA3D, the vendor can see the exact same 3D fit model’s body, animated to perform real time motion simulation for fit verification. Since Tukatech offers end-to-end solutions for apparel production, after 3D fit approval, the style can then proceed through the manufacturing process.

“Other 3D systems get patterns from us. These are fit blocks on the model with zero difference. If the users of other 3D system make the one-time purchase of a TUKA avatar at $500, they will help all vendors to use same files and make the final samples. Even if the designer is using Browzwear or CLO for new designs, the base pattern is still the one that fits the model. This allows us as vendors to use the brand’s design to make fit samples quickly.” Says Arshad Sattar, Group Managing Director of Timex & Fergasam Group. “Tukatech is the FIT specialist, we know. We have been using 3D since 2005, make 800 to 1,400 new products for over 120 brands and retailers every month and hardly make any FIT samples,” he added.

Complete the Request a 3D Model form to inquire about the availability and pricing of your desired fit model. If your fit model is not already in the 3D virtual fit models library, Tukatech will be happy to create a 3D replica using 3D body scan data captured by one of the hundreds of Styku body scanners located around the world.

P-CAM automatic cutting machines are chosen for mass production

P-CAM automatic cutting machines are chosen for mass production

MIDORI APPAREL VIETNAM HOA BINH is a sewing factory for the MIDORI SAFETY GROUP in Vietnam, which manufactures and sells workwear mainly for Japanese companies. The company has installed several SHIMA SEIKI P-CAM automatic cutting machines for their accurate cutting performance. P-CAM has had no trouble such as breakdowns, and features good after-sales service. Therefore production can be carried out with confidence, even in areas where there are few craftsmen with cutting skills. P-CAM automatic cutting machine supports high-quality, stable mass production according to schedule.

Norio Watanabe, General Director, Midori Apparel Vietnam Co., Ltd. said “We are the second sewing factory of the MIDORI SAFETY GROUP to open in Vietnam. We started operations in fall of 2013. Currently we have approximately 1,200 employees. This workforce produces about 1.8 million items per year. We manufacture various uniforms and workwear mainly for Japanese companies. We had installed SHIMA SEIKI machines at the first factory. Their performance, and the fact that there were no breakdowns or trouble with those machines, led us to install SHIMA SEIKI machines here at the second factory as well.

As you can expect there are many difficulties when starting a factory in a foreign country. Especially for this second factory, it is located in a rural area. Because there was not much industry, we could not expect to hire experienced craftsmen with cutting skills. In order to ensure accurate cutting, we decided from the very beginning to install automatic cutting machines.

When we opened our first factory in Vietnam, we stated with one automatic cutting machine. With steady increase in production numbers, 3 units are now operating at the first factory and 4 units are in operation at the second factory. We plan to expand our facilities even further in order to handle more orders, so we are considering installing more units in the future he added.

Takashi Kuraoka, Director of Factory said “The biggest benefit is that after-sales service is very good. If by chance we have any trouble, we can expect an immediate response. Next is cutting accuracy and fewer breakdowns. By cutting every layer of fabric precisely from top to bottom, sewing can be performed in the same manner for each piece, every time. Stable quality is one of the most important requirements in mass-production.

P-CAM machines feature a highly sophisticated cutting mechanism with a reciprocating knife for precision cutting through fabrics up to 3 inches in thickness. P-CAM also features a special function to cool the blade while cutting material that can melt and adhere to the blade. An improved knife sharpening system also permits more precise cutting.

In addition to the apparel industry, SHIMA SEIKI’s CAD system and computerized cutting machines cater to a variety of industries, supporting all our customers’ needs.

A.T.E. offers Morgan Tecnica PLY1 – the fastest single layer cutting system for textiles

A.T.E. offers Morgan Tecnica PLY1 – the fastest single layer cutting system for textiles

‘Customisation’ and ‘quick delivery’ are the current imperatives across all business sectors, and more so for apparel, home, and technical textile products. To meet these requirements, textile mills require machines featuring greater flexibility for customisation and rapid production of small and irregular lots.

PLY1, the single ply cutting system from Morgan Tecnica, Italy, is designed to meet these demands of the industry. This breakthrough technology, high performance single ply cutting system is equipped with linear motors that offer high accuracy coupled with low running costs. The PLY1 features multiple cutting heads that can cut both soft as well as hard textile materials, PLY1 can handle all types of textiles including carpet fabric, and even special materials of different compositions and dimensions including thicknesses up to 60 mm – with great precision and high speed.

PLY1 works with different cutting windows and conveyor extensions to manage any type of material and meet every production requirement. It can be equipped with Morgan Tecnica’s VisionScan system, a fully automatic solution to monitor, scan and manage the detection and proper matching of stripes, plaids and repeated prints. With the VisionScan system the material is preliminarily scanned before cutting, and the information is then processed by different software applications. The system then automatically shifts, rotates or even distorts (if needed) the pieces in the marker, in order to obtain proper matching, optimise the cutting time and reduce waste.

PLY1 lines are fully customisable through different optional modules, such as the automatic fabric roll feeding, loading, unrolling cradles for fabric feeding, labelling and collection systems for cut piece picking and sorting. This helps to meet the specific needs of each customer and industry application optimally.
