Texworld will focus on combining 'economy and ecology'Messe Frankfurt will introduce its new Texpertise network sustainability initiative at next month’s Texworld Evolution Paris. Branded as Econogy, a nod to the combination of economy and ecology, the new cross-fair initiative will act as an umbrella service for information, discussion, education and networking formats on all aspects of sustainability within the textile industry. Events will include lectures, information walls, guided tours and discussion forums.

At both Texworld and Apparel Sourcing, which together are expected to attract more than 1,200 visitors, Messe Frankfurt will also launch the Econogy Finder, a new feature that will help visitors list and access all suppliers of sustainably produced textiles via an online directory.

Totaling about 80 companies, the booths of relevant exhibitors, whose sustainable supply chains activities, materials and processes have been verified by a third-party organisation, will also be marked with visible Econogy symbols.

Conferences scheduled under the Econogy umbrella will look at zero waste fashion, alternative techniques for finishing, communicating environmental and social impact, and the reorganisation of textile industry value chains.

“Once again this year, international suppliers to the global fashion and apparel industry will be demonstrating the central role of the European markets for the fashion sector,” Messe Frankfurt said in a statement. “It is also a reminder of the importance for buyers of this essential point of contact and exchange for developing their Spring-Summer 2025 collections.”

Spread over the two levels of Hall 7, Texworld and Apparel Sourcing will bring together the bulk of the world’s supply of fabrics, materials, accessories and finished products for the apparel industry.
Texworld itself will offer more than 750 companies with the bulk of exhibitors coming from China, Korea, Turkey, India and Taiwan.
