TrimClean is removing trims from waste clothesValvan is introducing Trimclean, following the launch of Fibersort a few years ago. This technology is intended to remove trims from fibre-sorted textile materials, such as zippers, buttons, and labels. Purifying the feedstock by removing these undesirable elements makes it a more dependable and high-quality supply of feedstock for textile-to-textile recyclers.

Producers of recycled textiles must remove all trims like zippers, buttons, embroidery, and labels from fiber-sorted textile materials in order to generate pure feedstock appropriate for recycling.

Textiles are put onto a cutting line after the Fibersort process and are then chopped into small cuttings.

These clippings are transported to a detection area, where they are examined by a metal sensor and an optical camera system. Iron and non-iron metals are both detected by this metal sensor. All types of unwanted (non-textile) materials, such as labels and shoulder pads, are picked up by the vision system.

Trimmed clippings are pneumatically separated from untrimmed clippings, creating two distinct material flows. The materials that aren’t cut are used as raw materials to make new textile items.
