Unspun is working with Renoon, a software company from Amsterdam. Renoon helps clothing brands manage their supply chains, which is how clothes are made. Together, Unspun and Renoon want to change how the fashion industry works to be more transparent and better for the Earth.
Unspun’s main idea is to make jeans that fit perfectly using your phone to scan your body. This way, they can make jeans without causing a lot of pollution. They don’t need to do things like keep a lot of clothes in a warehouse, cut fabric, or sew in a traditional way. They can do everything with fewer steps. They even use a special way of making fabric called 3D weaving.
Annika Visser, who works for Unspun, says that their idea reduces pollution a lot because they can make clothes that really fit people. Unspun and Renoon want to help people understand how their clothes are made and how they are helping the Earth. People can scan a special code on their clothes to learn more about where they come from.
Iris Skrami, who started Renoon, talked about how the rules for taking care of the environment and treating people right are getting more important, especially in Europe. She said that many brands in Europe want to be better for the Earth, but they don’t have all the information they need. Renoon helps Unspun and other brands tell people about the good things they are doing by using special codes on their clothes.
