The Bangladesh Textile Mills Association is going to hold a four-day exhibition named Dhaka International Textile and Garment Machinery Exhibition in February 1-4. The 18th edition of the DTG expo will take place at the International Convention City Bashundhara in the capital Dhaka and more than 1,000 machinery manufacturers from 32 countries will take part in the exhibition, said a press release issued by the BTMA on Saturday.

The BTMA in association with Chan Chao International Co Ltd, Taiwan and Yorkers Trade and Marketing Service Co Ltd, Hong Kong has been organising the expo since 2004 in an aim to attract local entrepreneurs to invest in textile and garment sector and to introduce state-of-the-art technology in textile and garment sector.

This exhibition is a smaller version of International Textile Machinery Exhibition of South East Asia which increases the image of the association and the country as well, the release said.

It said that the exhibition would offer an opportunity for local textile and apparel manufacturers to meet their global suppliers of the latest machinery under an umbrella. The exhibition will remain open to all from 12:00pm to 8:00pm every day until February 4. Prime minister’s adviser for private industry Salman F Rahman is expected to inaugurate the exhibition.
